Sobre textos es una propuesta basada en un diálogo específico entre las artistas convocadas. Ellas presentan trabajos que, de modos singulares, abordan el cruce entre signo visual y texto escrito.

Decimos cruce y no encuentro porque en todas ellas aparece (de manera mas o menos evidente) una suerte de lucha- más que de feliz reunión- , de dialéctica compleja, entre la imagen y la escritura. Podemos arriesgar un denominador común; estas obras tornan visible lo ilegible.

La pintura figurativa de Iliana Regueiro aparece llamativa y colorida frente a otras obras más silenciosas. La artista trabaja el misterio de la escritura desde otro ángulo. Toma el lenguaje público de las señales urbanas, lo priva de su obviedad funcional, y los reinstala en paisajes oníricos. Una suerte de realismo mágico donde lo absurdo se presenta con apariencia de total normalidad, como en el país de las maravillas de Lewis Carroll.

“About texts” is a proposal based on a specific dialogue among artists.

 

Summoned up, they present works, which in different peculiar ways, approach the “crossing” between visual signs and written texts.

 

It is called “crossing” instead of “encounter” because they all show almost evidently, a kind of struggle  rather than a happy meeting, with a complex dialectic between image and writing. A constant feature can be envisaged: these works become visible which is illegible.

 

The figurative paintings of Iliana Reguerio appears gaudy and colorful if compared with other more silent works. The artist deals with the mystery of writings from another angle. She takes the public language of the urban signs, deprives them from their functional obviousness and relocate them in oneiric scenarios. A kind of magic realism in which the absurd is seen with absolute normality, as it is seen in the wonderland by Lewis Carroll
